Being cautious or obsession with consequences??

The beauty of life lies in its utter unpredictability....does it take too much for people to understand this?? i don't understand the need of people to know what's gonna happen to them each and every minute....why can't they just wait it out and enjoy the time they've got at present? this is total insanity....i'm a person who always looks out for an element of mystery in everything i do...after all, what's the use of "trying" something new, knowing fully well how it's gonna turn out...people, in the name of being cautious, really freak me out...life as such is so much fun...if they can just let it be and sit back and relax (ie.,shut up and do their work) without fussing about their would-be great grand daughter's future,everything will turn out well...just for once take your best friend,board the first bus that comes your way,(i'm talking in my range here...of course you can catch a plane or go to Himalayas if you can) get down when you get bored with the ride, explore the place,roam around well without thinking about what'll happen if you get lost,or what if you get kidnapped or fall into a well, you'll get a li'l idea of what i'm talking about here....

Don't let yourself be a victim of the 'consequences phobia' or whatever...try something new,enjoy the time you have now and have FUN...for, "when you look back in your life, you'll always regret the stuff you haven't done rather than the ones you have"...or in typical bollywood style-"क्या पता, कल हो न हो !!!"

you gotta take some chances - you have to have something worth dying for or you're not really living.

Well, I expected u to lash out at me, but not so straight... I can totally understand the kind of exhilaration ur carefree attitude brings with it and I completely admire you for that; but hey, there is nothing wrong in being prepared for the situations we might have to face.
As it is, I am not the right person to talk about staying cool in any situation!!! Keep going, girl...

@sandy

Is this a direct dig @ my post, u evil person?!! Is it so wrong to want to know where your life is going ( I don't mean planning your great grand daughter's future but more like what will you be doing this time, next year)? Maybe I am the control freak here, but I am at my happiest when I know just where everthing is going...living in the moment is JUST not my thing.

this is not a dig at anyone...see people change all the time...how can you be sure that what you like now,or want now will be liked or wanted by you 5 or 10yrs from now?? how can you plan for a thing which itself may not be present after sometime....it just becomes a total waste of time...

@Priyanka
U wrote a post along similar lines? Will read that now.

@Gayathri
See... I am not alone... Maybe I am more relieved and satisfied when I know what would happen tomorrow so that I can be prepared for that.

Well, nice post, but I would take a cat on the wall position on this one... U ve to plan for some things in life and the carefree attitude and all tht can be when U freak out... Well answer this question havent u planned to do an MBA... isnt tht foreseeing a matter... or thinkin abt consequences... A Human being is expected to expect in his life... or else he will be hailed a Saint... So while enjoyin and Using up ur free time... do anything U want to... Freak out... But choosing the Important decisions in Life... U ve got to foresee... and Plan... Thats my point...

Sriram said...

Btw... am I goin to be fined for commenting... in a so called WOMEN'S ROOM...

@aditya
its not necessary to do really crazy stuff like jumping off a building to feel happy and excited...you can enjoy and have fun even without doing weird stuff...and i wrote this post just because i don't understand why people plan so much ahead when i myself have never found a reason to do so...

gayathri said...

@sriram
that's just your way of looking at it...but this is nice, its like a war btwn conservatives n liberals...v can never understand d other's reason for doing what they do;)

Sriram said...

Well Gayathri, it is like a war... And no body can win it... it depends on an Individual's Perspective and way of seeing things...

Hi Gayathri,

Yeah life is interesting when there is mystery and curiosity in things, that really makes our life more meaningful. Every mystery that is solved leads to another one that is even more interesting and worth living for. Good post!

:)

@ Gayathri, I didn't mean crazy stuff, but there's a difference between being informed and impulsive rather than blind and impulsive, like say, if you are going for a holiday to say Switzerland, I would most certainly make a list of place i'd want to see and visit considering that that would be the kinda place that a person doesn't go to too often in one's life, and it would be a huge waste of energy and resources to blindly go to a place like that and just, like you said, have fun. It works sometimes, sometimes it doesn't, and when it doesn't, you tend to start having regrets.

I entirely agree with living in the present and not planning too much in ahead, but, most things need to have a reasonable amount of planning. That's why planning works a whole lot better, at least for most people.

Aditya is spot on with his comments on this one... I totally go with him on this one...
